Stitching Smiles

by XxxWordsOfWisdomxxX   Sep 10, 2011

You move closer
Needle in hand
I myself
Too weak to stand

Each step
Closes the space
I was an angel
Falling grace

Now look at me
Lying on the floor
Left to bleed
You said to smile more

You've sewn your stitches
Though it has no meaning
The needle in light
Is silver; Gleaming

The stitches stretch,
So much pain inside.
But how can you save someone,
Who has already died?

You can't, dear child.
I hear you say.
My wounds slowly fading,
From red, to grey.

You leave me, to take the job,
As she's wheeled in screaming.
I tell her to quiet, close your eyes,
And just pretend your dreaming...

As I move closer,
Needle in hand.
She, herself,
Too weak, to stand.
