Life's Sand

by AngelsTears   Sep 19, 2011

Life's like an hourglass:
Everything is right side up
Then suddenly turned upside down.
Sand filters quickly
Little grains of life,
Slowly passing away.
Each second
A piece of sand falls until
Suddenly-
It all comes rushing out.
Sometimes the hourglass breaks
And then it's all over.
Time has run out
No more life left to fall.
It seems sometimes
The hourglass is sat the wrong way,
No hand around
To turn it over once again.
The sand filters quickly
Faster
Until there is nothing left.
Yet
Still-
There is no hand
To let the sand
Filter as life again;
Sometimes the hourglass of life
Has run out
Of sand.
