They Lied

Remember when they said that love was real?
That there'd be someone to help seal the deal?
They lied.
Remember when they said thaty joy always lasts?
That depression is just a thing of the past?
They lied.
Remember when they told you that life was long?
That nothing could ever make you be gone?
They lied.
Remember when they wiped away your tears?
Saying that they're love would get rid of your fears?
They lied.
Remember when they said they'd always be around?
That they'd never leave your side and pick you up when you're down?
They lied.
All these lies they told to you and me
Just to make sure that we'd all be happy.
But truth be told, it was a load of crap.
