The Spider's Kiss

by Owner of an Untamed Heart   Sep 30, 2011

I remember the day I laid my eyes on you,
oh, speechless man,
and I craved to hear your sweet
melodic sound fill my ears.

you were a mute for a reason,
no doubt; the metaphor of your life
as you were always silenced from your
family. but your lips tells a different story.

a trembling fear to converse, I see;
though I swore I could always hear your
voice, shouting wonderful words to me. No
one could hear you but you filled my ears.

that day of a new moon, your lips shook;
a dangerous task, I say, under the stars,
I took you by the hand and our heads
slowly bound together to form a unity.

the sweetest kiss that ever touched my lips
were as gentle as a spider's web
but as deadly as the spider, deadly because
you truly spoke the words "I love you."

the moon heard you, the stars heard you,
the swift waves of the river moved to your
sound. that's when it dawned on me, that I,
just a girl, has un-silenced a speechless man.
