WHO AM I ?

by patrick   Oct 7, 2011

For me I need to sing a song were the words do not rhyme
Some thing to fit that clear vision left of my minds eye
Same spot where my dreams flash about
Love around the clock 24/7 my spot my home my life

"Kartjie bos" got flowers too
Dogs with no pedigree are braacks but they are still dogs
Digest; God might be a girl, scary hey?
Jesus was non-white that's for sure. Oh dear!
Nothing is cast in stone
'they" got that one right or is it left with a sharp swing?

My mind can walk through all the old places I have been
See yester year and all the bumps in between
It is all there on the record
All the ugly alongside the beauty
And it is I, what a wonder to behold
Regrets thus far not one
I play this game my rules
Hopes, dreams, and my fears too are in my control
Age now my slide to ride, creaks and groans aside
My wish, to neither blemish nor tarnish what is in the bank
A legacy
Not some earth-shattering intellectual gift nor heaps of money
Rather to fit in with whom I am
A dog with no pedigree
Kin to a karkie bos, warts and all pure me
No frills just a song were the words do not rhyme
My mind wired back to front get yours around that one if you can
Love is my game
And we all know love changes every thingTim Rice told me so!
