Words upon Words

by E Dacaf   Oct 11, 2011

For even the most honeyed words, from gaping jaws;
will not compare you to a summers day.
You are no day, or night. Nor a fruit in in my eye,
or a scent of gilded lilies.
You are...you.
Woman of heat, life and smiles.
Of delicate teeth and crystal class.
Mahogany hair cascading down slender neck of Ivory.
Eyes like stars, in oceanic waters.
Fire-Passion-Warmth, flickering your insides.
Pangs! of sadness in a crushed soul.
You.

    Beautiful write! I like how you start of telling us what (she) is Not, and finish with images that show us what she is. Worth the read, for sure. :)
