Immeasurable By Ray Smallshaw

Immeasurable

In can say to date in my lifetime I have truly been in love with two women,

Both my wives, yet I could not say truthfully that I love one more than the other,

How can I measure my love of one against the other as their love to me at the times they were my wife was immeasurable,

I know that if through my own stupidity I had not caused my first marriage to fail I would have only shared my love with one,

Yet my stupidity knew no bounds so here I am sharing it with my second wife,

She who gives me as much if not more than my first wife yet my love for her is as for my first, though my first is now in my past,

No. I do not long for her love anymore and I hold no animosity for our parting as I hope she does not hold any against me,

Through the sharing of my love with those I love and the things I care about such as, my wife, children, my grandchildren, my family, my friends, my dogs, food and books,

I have learnt that love gives me goals, joy, happiness and most of all life and because of all it gives me I know that LOVE is immeasurable.
