Her wish

by Miss Lonely Teacher   Oct 28, 2011

Venom drips from her words,
she's burned another bridge.
she tells herself it's necessary
so she's not missed when she goes.
if they hate her enough
they won't hurt when she dies.
they won't have to feel the pain
she's lived with all her life.
but suddenly her eyes betray her,
tears start spilling down.
they see her pain and want to help
but she's too proud for that.
she leaves the house and never returns.

they hear about the accident days later
and they all respect her wish.
on the day of the funeral there's music,
there's laughing as they reminisce.
and not one tear is shed in sorrow.
