I Refuse

by Owner of an Untamed Heart   Nov 24, 2011

I refuse
To shed that pointless liquid from my eye
To observe you passing me by
I'm no longer seized in your devious attempt
To have a weakness when I see you

You could have me pinned down on the floor
Have an AK47 pointing right at my head
But all the voiceless words that you said
Will never make me admit defeat
I'm resilient

Cause I'll eternally keep in mind
There're dozens of priceless boys to find
Who always appreciates a girl
Once she's already walking from your doorstep

You're not the first to fracture where my emotions lie
Disappointingly, you won't be the last
But my momma told me I'll find the one for me
Even when the Earth stands still, that's what I'll believe

So I refuse
To cry in vain cause I lack for your kiss
To confess that your body is what I miss
That clutch that you once had on me
Is no more pulling me to say yes

You could have me hanging in a volcano
Frame me for murder by the corpse in my bed
But all the meaningless words that you said
Will on no account declare conquest
I'm incorrigible

You can't have me anymore
I'm not entrapped in all your games
Enchanted by you malicious charm
Haven't you heard that I've changed

I've noticed I'm stronger without you
So why be weak pleading you to stay
You can't force me to love you again
Cause I am not afraid
