Foods of Love

by Firdaus Fanny PP   Nov 26, 2011

Like delicious woodapples that are uneasy to peel
Fully protected, it is armored by your heart of steel
The hardest thing to soften, it takes more than just skill
But giving up on this, you know that I never will

Robust as smell of a coffee, what a strong flavor
Like handling a cake, I need to go layer after layer
Handling this carelessly won't do me any favor
It takes more than patience to make this forever

Sometimes it could be more painful than scar soaked in sea salt
Even this lovely thing is shielded by hundred layers of vault
At the end of the day, it is only me that I can fault
This is a big thing, I won't be winning this just by default

I know this is not going to be as sweet as blueberry cakes
And obviously not going to be crunchier than cornflakes
The biggest prize I would love to make mine is now at stake
I am in it to win it, I am sure I have what it takes

I am your only chocolate, the only one to fit the mold
I either can be served hot, or else you can have me cold
Little candy, you have been the one I am craving to hold
Please tell me what to do in order to melt your heart of gold

    Good poem buddy...!
I liked the way you compared love with food and your poem has the flavours of food blended with the intensity of love and you have good potential...
