Wish I Could See

by No1ButMe   Dec 5, 2011

I wish I could see;
Smart, compassionate, nice
A heart that beats
Not covered in ice
Someone who can keep it together
Funny, honest, and seen
Not someone who is just
Sinister, twisted, and mean
Someone worth staying for
Someone worth the fight
Not just someone lost in the darkness
But someone in the light
Someone that helps people
Not just because it looks good
But to make the world better
And believes that they should
Someone at peace with themselves
And can say they have pride
Because they love who they are
And they have nothing to hide
Someone who always give of themselves
And puts forth their all
Not someone who's fake
And lives behind a wall
Someone worth listening to
And can put a smile on your face
Not someone who's a failure
And a complete waste of space
Someone who can be beautiful
No matter what has happened
Not someone who argues
But, beauty can't comprehend
Someone who is loveable
And not held back by scars
Not someone who is crazy
And ashamed of who they are
Someone although not perfect
Perfect for you in every way
Not someone totally wrong for you
And can't see why you even stay
I wish I could look through your eyes
I wish I could see
Because when I look at myself
That's just not me.

This poem really does show what awesome qualities and traits people can posess.

I love the words you used "A heart that beats not covered with ice" - a well written way to describe someone obviously with a cold heart (I don't think that's you by the way)

I read this and can see parts of these traits are mine and others are also what I wish for.

I haven't known you for long but I know that you do not carry all the negative traits that you have expressed in your poem at all.

It is really difficult sometimes because other people see what we can't and we can see what they can't as well.

Like I know when people say oh you've got a nice smile I'm like @#$@# off lol I don't believe them but they may believe it.

It's what we think of when we look at ourselves in the mirror or any kind of reflection. We don't believe we have good traits and that makes us more depressed. Or at least it makes me more depressed.

Either way - you do have awesome traits too :D

    A well written poem
