She Is No Juliet

by Jess   Dec 11, 2011

A love story
would be over-rated,
giving that
she is no Juliet.

Her eyes sparkled
in the cold winter breeze,
all dolled up
so beautiful.

Snow pants
and a too big,
fluffy coat.
she didn't care.

Beauty Lies
In the heart,
Not in what
she is wearing.

And nominated, for the beauty of the message carried in your words here in their utter simplicity. A poem need not be always complex, to be a winner. Your thoughts are what strike the magic cord, so it is a winner in my heart.

    So true, as someone said:

Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.

So, do you disagree with Oscar Wilde:

It is better to be beautiful than to be good. But... it is better to be good than to be ugly.

If you do, here is an original to match your thoughts:

It is better to be good than beautiful. If you look closer, you will find my beauty hidden within my heart.
