Things are changing

My life so full of change and pain
trying to find just how much i can gain
darkness was around my every thought
my past all in the open my scars got me caught
Alone for what seems so long
tears have fallen from these eyes but i stay strong
each action like a bullet putting me down
wanting to scream and let it all out but i can't make a sound
This life i have why did it come to me
each passing moment like a tragic dream
so much love to give but always pushed away
this guy knows he is good and that he will have his day
but my mind can't help but think back to the could have been
the love i had so strong if only you had seen
now i continue forward no more looking back
there is no time for dwelling on things i lack
but i am here in this world so cold
no one special to wrap my arms around and hold
but my mind is set on the next page
i shall write it my way and stand center stage
