Little Girl

by Photograph My Memory   Dec 23, 2011

Little girl, so young and fragile,

It's too much for you pure heart to hold.

Little girl, you deserve to show a smile.

Don't let it turn you out cold.

Little girl, don't show your fears,

There's still more hurt to feel.

Little girl, don't let them see your tears,

There's still more disappointment to yield.

But little girl, if it's too much to do it on your own

And the world is bitter and not on your side,

Then let your heart be shown.

But little girl, only to those you cannot hide.

If they make your smile abright,

Stand your ground and let it be so.

If they make your heart relight,

Remember, not to let them go.

Little girl, always remember

A glowing candle is better than one put out.

A flame will come of the ember

And a flame to a burning fire.

So little girl, stay strong even when you tire.
