Why We Have Friends

by Caitlin   Dec 24, 2011

For a shoulder to cry on, Always partners in class,
Someone to build you up, Someone to make you laugh.
To share the same interests, Or maybe none at all,
To smirk when we slip up, But to pull us up when we fall.
To teach the mysteries of life,
(In very metaphorical terms)
To enjoy all our talents,
And to share what we've earned.
To be helpful assistants,
So no project's too large,
To be a right hand man,
To be our (ahem) faithful charge.
Someone to talk to,
As we go through hard times.
To hold hands and guide us,
As we walk beside.
We all need a friend,
But we need to remember,
To be a friend ourselves,
And to be one forever
