Bringing you home

by Poet on the Piano   Dec 26, 2011

To have you here [at last]
is my heart's truest desire
now answered.
The angels from the white kingdom
have watched over us silently for so long,
yet now they hum lullabies above us
for we are home; no one can move us
from our peace. I hear church bells still echo
in the midnight.....the early wings
of Christmas morn' blush inside and out.
We fall asleep by the fireside, in the arms
and soul of one another,
an embrace we will never forget through a remembering lifetime.
I feel dreams warm us as I thank the Lord
for the happiness of this life.
And you brush my hot chocolate lips...
that are dusted with the
sweetness of a kiss first experienced
after the war (brought us closer).
Now, our love will deepen, while our one soul caresses this merriment-
you're a love I've given everything for
and the winter sighs outside
watching us beautifully.....
for the whole world looks upon us
and guides us...
Living a love five hundred miles apart has finally
brought us home.
