My Strength

by Sam   Dec 29, 2011

Slowly I'm becoming somebody I don't want to be,
Like a rose with a million thorns it's growing in me.
I try to fight it, but it's too strong to handle,
But you can blow it out just like a candle.
It's strange when you're here, I can't feel it,
Deadly. Somehow your words seem to heal it.
You make me feel like the same old me,
The one that smiles and was always free.
When you're not around, the pain grows faster,
You re-appear, covering my wounds like plaster.
I swear, what you do is so amazing,
A sunken joy's in me that you're raising.
Was this supposed to happen so you could save me?
Like a wilted rose, you care for and raise me.
I've never really felt a love this strong and pure,
But when I'm with you, I'm in love for sure.
