Soldier: Lost Her

by jocelyn   Jan 8, 2012

I can't remember,
What your arms felt like.
I struggle to hear,
Your voice in my ear.
I'm trying so hard,
But I know deep inside,
I lost you a long time ago.

Your smile was so beautiful,
It brought light to my sad life.
I grew up wanting one thing,
To make you my wife.
But I forgot how the world works,
You never get what you want.

I went away for awhile,
Became the best I could be.
I had it all planned out,
But fate screwed me.

Send me out to war, sir.
I have nothing left at home.
Give me a target for my grief.
I lost the one who loved me.

Hold on, babe
Just give me a day.
I'm coming home to you,
I'm storming heaven's gate.
