Certainty

by AlysonEdel   Jan 15, 2012

She flirts and flickers
From scene to scene
Everything seems as it should
A smile a laugh
The flutter of her heart
As she talks to you
The joy the passion
In her eyes.

But that is gone
At the drop of a dime
She draws away
To her dark hole
Doubts the love
She so feels
The tears want to pour
But she holds tight
Afraid to go back to
The hell she was in before.

The hell that was torment
In its darkness
The lack of happiness it makes you numb
The saying 'it is better to feel pain than nothing at all'
Has never been more true
The hell from which she has not yet escaped
Only evaded at short intervals
It is like a roaring tide finding the shore
It will never stop till it erodes
To take it back into the depth of its ocean.

The fear that surrounds her
From day to day
The fear no one sees
Consumes her being
The fear of forever being the shadows
Never having a life
Always held back by the demons
Demons that no matter the fight
She can never truly escape
She can only delude and pretend they are not her.

Why she was curse she does not know
She is only certain of few things
She will never be normal
She will forever be timid
She will forever fear outside her hole
She will forever be the outsider
She will forever be the anti-social
She will forever be the weirdo
She will forever be last choice
She will forever guard herself
She will forever love
But she will forever love from afar
She will forever hate herself
She will forever be glad for her choices
She will forever be strong
She will forever be stubborn
She will forever give a fight
She will forever be loved
She will forever recover
She will forever LIVE.
