When someone hurts
When they put you down
When they make you cry
Keeping your heart on the ground

Do you really suffer
Or does life take its toll
Do you gain at all
Is it a game awaiting its roll

When people hurt you
Don't you grow strong?
Don't you realize
Not to do that wrong

So the next time you're hurt
When you're upset and confused
Remember that you're gaining
That you're hearts not abused
