A Lonely Girls World

by Tracie   Jan 27, 2012

Dark shadows leap across my blind
Cast from an outside light
Gnarled fingers on hands out stretched
Ugly faces cold and wretched
In a lonely girls world
Words begin to form
Feelings swirl round my head
Infesting my mind with drowning memories of happily ever afters never to come
One by one
Clinging together on an unbreakable thread
So much so
That my pen refuses to yield
Nothing left unopened, nothing concealed
Yet before the words have left my mind
There scattered across the paper
Sealed and signed
The moment is forever gone
Scribed eternally as time goes on
This night my verbal passion ends
No more time to make amends
Before the ink from my pen is drawn
I beg and plead for one more dawn
Shall I write until my thumb bleeds
My hand bruised
My fingers seized
Slipping back into the darkness
Ill carve words unto the page until it sets
Yearning for a sleep with no regrets
Hoping that prose will let me find my sleep
Trying to find a dream thats mine to keep
I picture your face as turn out the light
I lay there knowing...
Yet again, theres no sleep for me tonight.
