Is the Deepest (Part 2)

by Megan   Feb 2, 2012

I used to dream about forever;
I wanted it to be with you.
But now I'm finding out
you failed to love me, too.
You looked past me;
you ignored the pounding of my heart.
But still I loved you deeply;
that's the saddest part.
All I ever wanted
was for you to love me back.
But all I got was heartache in return
and I simply didn't plan for that.
I couldn't see how you could not love me
when I loved you so very much.
I thirsted for your desire;
I was starving for your touch.
Like a bride on her wedding day,
I had stars in my eyes.
Like a flower newly bloomed in spring,
I wasn't ready for stormy skies.
The clouds may pass one day
but not soon enough, I fear.
So I will let the rain beat me down
until the terrifying storms clear.
