If we knew the point

by DarkLight   Feb 15, 2012

If only we knew the point,
where something is going to break,
where the thread of kisses will be cut,
where a look will no longer meet another,
where the heart will leap towards another place,
we could put another point on that point
or at least go with it to its breaking.

If only we knew the point
where something is going to melt into something,
where the desert will meet the rain,
where the embrace will touch life itself,
where my death will come closer to yours,
we could unwind that point like a streamer,
or at least sing it till we die.

If only we knew the point
where something will always be something,
where the bone will not forget the flesh,
where the fountain is mother to another fountain,
where the past will be past,
we could leave that point and erase all the others,
or at least keep it in a safer place..

    What will I do???
Firstly, I would be in shock! And with a smile on my lips. Then I would do whatever I can to be of some help, though, later on I wouldn't know what to do with it. I will be stress and perhaps I would even go crazy. What if I see what's going to happen but it's not within my power to do anything. I would feel frustrated and scared. So that's why I believe that That type of gift is only given to someone who is capable of dealing with it and I wouldn't feel capable of dealing with it. :(

I think I have seen that movie. But it was a long time ago.

If we knew the point and connect it to another then something will be missing. let's say for instance, life is like a sweater and we are knitting it everyday. But when we were in that process we found that the tread broke (heartbroken for whatever reason). So we stop at that point and we try to fix it by adding the same thread to it but this time we have no other option but to make a small but almost invisible knot to tied it back again. The new thread might be of the same color or a different one because that heartbreak might have alter the way we perceive life so it's fair to say that we changed it to another color. Then we continue knitting that sweater but it has that knot and a different color and then once again the same happen, we get heartbroken and the same cycle continues..

But if we take a look at how that sweater is looking then we find out how colorful and full of patterns that sweater is. So what I'm saying is that getting heartbroken it's not as bad as one feels, it adds a different color to our life but By heartbroken I don't  necessarily mean someone whose heart is broken due to ending a relationship. I mean heartbroken when our hearts feel like they broke due to something that we love the most has dissappear. Either something material or nonmaterial or emotional.

Now think about this, if we knew where that point was, then we would already know what we did wrong, and thus this time we wouldn't have gotten our heart broken and thus we wouldn't have added a different color to our life/sweater and no patterns. And it will look plain and with a solid color. There wouldn't be patterns or anything.
There wouldn't even be the need to cut the thread because we would have already know what happened on that point, thus we wouldn't have make the mistake and there wouldn't be a need to even cut it.

It will be perfect, and ironically boring.

By the way, don't get me wrong. I like sweaters of just one solid color but many consider them boring and that they are missing something.

It just looks perfect. But having everything perfect all the time can result in what we not expect.

I don't know if my explanation is understandable but I liked your poem.

Ps: sweaters of one color are perfect for combining them with another perfect blouse color.
So it would be nice to see people who don't make mistakes that way it will make a perfect match to one that doesn't either.

Thanks, I got allot of ideas from your poem.
