Teacher

I could bring to you
a glossy, red, and juicy
yet, very typical apple
that students bring to teachers

However, my sweet
You have done more
than teach me basic grammar
or the equations of arithmetic

I've been taught to believe
in the power of kissing
and in the strength
of holding your hand

To fear no obstacle
or negative notions
that may abruptly arise
in our serene relationship

For I have grown to have
faith in the one I plan on
spending forever and day
with for the rest of eternity

So no gift I could bring you
can measure up to
the gift you have given me-
a lesson on romance

For you, my baby,
you have taught me
to love far beyond
the depths of my soul.

    Wow! Chelsey, this poem is so so so sweet and romantic! It was such a joy to read =D I really enjoyed it... I love the title and the first stanza, because at first the reader isn't sure what this poem is about... but as I continued reading it was clear what it's about. I really like how you developed the idea of not knowing what to get this person, from how special he is to you...

    The last two stanzas were also a perfect ending. So beautiful! Great job job hon =D

    I really enjoyed reading this poem, not only because of your choice of words and the images you create in my mind with it, but also because of the strong emotions.
    I like the fact that the speaker is so convinced of the love she feels and I definately like the sensuality too!
