Masquerade of Deception

by Hollow Face   Feb 15, 2012

I have found, in all my years that men are complete, utter scoundrels.

They grovel before whom they take fancy,

And spit at the feet of others.

They put on their masks, like in a masquerade ball,

And play the game of deception.

So all the young little girls,

Have all the young sweet guys,

When really they just have the ********.

I have danced with you at your masquerade of deception,

You wearing the mask, me carrying the heart.

But your mask was removed,

And my eyes saw your soul.

You played the game wrong,

You made the wrong moves,

And now the game is at end.

But guess who has won.

I let you lead me in this dance of deception,

But I saw your true colours, and have pulled back my heart.

There is only one thing left for me to tell you;

Check mate.

This poem is good but I believe it can be better. There are some parts that are hard to read so those parts distort the flow of the poem. Just a little edition and it will be awesome.

I like the end check mate... That's powerful.
