Brother of the Ages

by Rhinehalt   Jun 26, 2004

You’re growing up.
You’ve changed a lot.
No longer are you
That little pest
From our childhood.
You have grown in height
And so in your weight.
Taller you are
But in your heart
You’re still the little boy
You left in the past.
Gentle at heart
And kind to most.
I’d never want to know
What it would be like
If you were never around.
The world wouldn’t be
The same
If you weren’t here.
You may grow up
And change some more
But you are the brother
I know.
No matter what you say
Dear brother
You are here to stay
And I wouldn’t have it
Any other way.
