Life's Equation

by dasheemaebear   Feb 20, 2012

Our life is a system of linear equations.
There are variables that we need to change.
Variables that has an infinite quantity,
We may change it or let it be.

Our world is composed of different people.
But there's something that we are common.
And that greatest common factor is faith,
We have many different gods and still we believe.

Ourselves is a big mathematical equation,
An equation that only one person has the right solution.
A solution of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
It depends on the situation in choosing your solution.

Great piece. This is the second time I've read a poem with math incorporated in it :b

"Our world is composed of different people.
But there's something that we are common."
I love this part, but change 'are' to 'have'

"And that greatest common factor is faith,
We have many different gods and still we
    believe."
I don't think I agree.. I have friends who don't have a religion/faith. But yes, everyone still believes.. That's why we're still here.

    "A solution of
    addition,subtraction,multiplication and
    division.
It depends on the situation in choosing your
    solution."
I agree. It will all end, but the question 'how?' depends on our solution/choice.

    Really well-written. 5/5 Keep writing :)

I don't know if systems are always linear but I do feel maths explains the perfection of the universe . Lovely write
