Line of scrimmage

by Samantha   Feb 27, 2012

Lights out, sin grinning,
Hearts pound, hells winning,
Fall apart, who's gonna care?
Let's dance in the dark with our lives to spare,
Raining glass from the reflections cracked,
I laugh you take a wild step back,
Not falling in love with the demons?
Have you had enough? Can you stop screamin'?
You said you wanted rock and roll,
Didn't know the free world takes its toll?
Come on just grab my hand,
We'll waste our existence giving no damn,
Oh no, what's that? Can't handle the unknown?
Need to go back? No more time to blow?
You can if you have the will,
At first glance was it not this real?
No, not at all, you've got it wrong,
If your heart is not broke you don't belong,
Get away, down the stairs,
Go on, escape, say a little prayer,
And leave this image in your head,
Next time think harder before passing the line of scrimmage between alive and dead.
