Denied The Truth

by A Shame In His Eyes   Mar 4, 2012

It was never something I drove myself to believe,
It was always something I denied, until the truth was right in front of me.
I blinded myself from the truth for as long as I could,
I blinded myself so much, my heart could no longer see.

She had taken my place in your heart, my place in your life,
You hid her for months, thinking I'd never find out.
She tempted you with love you couldn't resist,
She was your wish come true, the one you'd always dreamt about.

She made you smile, like no one had ever seen,
Your eyes lit up every time she was on your mind.
Still I couldn't see that the truth was right in front of me,
If I had opened my eyes to the truth, maybe love wouldn't have been so blind.
