I Miss You

Best Friends Forever Is what we agreed,
You were there when i needed to be freed,
Restrained by my heart i was broken and frail,
You said you would always be there.

Years went by and our friendship grew,
time flew past and lots of shit we went through.
But always i knew that we could count on each other,
you have always been like my tough older brother.

Then one day you needed a change,
You needed your life to be rearranged.
You joined our armed forces so noble and true,
i cant explain how proud i am of you.

I missed you like crazy as time went by,
i never told you how much i would cry.
I would hear from you now and then,
but never sure when you would be back again.

One day i got word that you would be coming to town,
the joy that i felt, nothing could bring me down.
I talked to you when you got off the plane,
i couldn't wait to see you, i was going insane.

A few days went by and i still haven''t seen your face,
Not sure, but some how i felt misplaced.
I knew you were busy so i was patient as can be,
but you left before you ever saw me.

A year went by and no words were exchanged,
i had come to the conclusion that we had changed.
But one day an email came through for me to see,
and in shock i couldn't believe it was from you, to me.

We started getting close like we were before,
sharing old stories, i started smiling more.
Before i knew it you would be coming home to stay,
I was so excited i didn't even know what to say!

The day of your arrival i was impatient as can be,
i waited at the airport since six thirty-three.
The first thing i saw was a pair of converse shoes,
i no longer needed any more clues.

Together again, i had my best friend,
we have a relationship i thought couldn't bend.
Rolling with the punches that life seems to bring,
you and I were doing our thing.

Together forever i thought we would make it through,
you're one of my oldest friends this i know to be true.
You know how i am and when i need a kick in the ass,
i really need this time to pass..
