It was mid-morning back in June
As I paced back and forth, I noticed you
Your long brunette hair caught my eye
Then I was taken back by that beautiful smile
I was motioned to approach the counter
Your beauty amplified as I got closer and closer
In my mind, I thought how young and divine
I didn't want to leave but I had to get back in line
Trying not to get caught I turned to gaze
To see an empty chair, I felt my smile fade
Back at the counter searching anxiously
Wanting to find you so desperately
Name and number on a small piece of paper
The thought of talking to you, my face got warmer
Unsure of what to say I continued walking your way
Standing in front of you, couldn't help but think hooray
It happened so fast your name I forgot to ask
All I thought was will she give me a shot
Checking my phone more and more as each hour past
Finally, the one whose name I did not know sent me a note
A walk around the park until it got dark
In my truck we sat and continued to chat
Her smile so bright it lit up the night
As we depart, not knowing it she had my heart
