Rainbow Love

by Mattias Ostling   Apr 7, 2012

Violet is the color of the
dress you wore when
your indigo eyes first
gazed into mine.
It was a summer's day--
blue oceans and green grass
surrounded us as we walked
down the yellow beach with
the orange sun high above
and I told you that my red
heart beats only
for you.

I thought this was a great poem. I loved the way you used colors here for everything you described. It wasn't too much for the reader. I think it all went very well together. It told a great love story with the beach. Being out there together in the sun until dusk sets in. All in all a great job. :)

Mattias I loved what you did with the idea of a rainbow. You took a moment, a scene in someones life and described the colors around you. That was brilliant...

WIth that being said, like the judge said, I think the fact that is was shorter it weakened the poem a little. I love this idea! I challenge you to think about making this longer, making it even more detailed and see what you come up with.

Your poetry and your ideas are awesome! :) Good job with this challenge

Super-awesome, Mattias. The 'rainbow' prompt came really handy with this piece. And you rocked the contest ;)

Without knowing that it was a club prompt, I wouldn't have guessed that you incorporated the 'rainbow theme' in here. Well, indigo would have been a clue. Such an elegant write. It went really smooth and natural!
