On the Dock

by lost angel   Apr 7, 2012

She's standing on the dock,
With her eyes closed,
And the cool breeze brushing through her hair,
As she takes in her last breath.
She remembers all the times she tried.
She remembers all the times she shouted,
But still remains unherd.
She remembers all the times she fought,
But nothing it was worth.
She's given up.
She said to herself 'A voice that isnt herd,
Isn't worth the time'.
She thinks to herself
That this just isn't fair,
This life she lives in,
Just doesn't care.
No one could hear her
Although she was the loudest.
No one could see her
But she was always there
With her last breath she plunges into the sea
And at the bottom
She will lie
Along with all her mysteries.

I love the simplicity of the imagery you've created in the beginning, but the ending lines were my favorite. It does seem like no one cares sometimes, but just remember, perhaps they are also battling a demon inside on their own. Stay strong..
