Understand

by The Lady of Shalott   Apr 16, 2012

You think you really know me,
and that you have the right to judge.
I'm not the type to anger quickly,
and I will not hold a grudge...

But you don't really know me...
You've never felt my pain.
You weren't there to hold me
the night I went insane.

You've never heard my cries
in the middle of the night.
And you weren't there to guide me
when I trailed off and lost my sight.

Break my heart, I beg you!
Teach me not to care!
Show me that my life is not
appreciated anywhere!

Show me that you hate me,
and even want me dead...
but don't tell me that you love me...
because it won't be true when said...
