The world as I see it

by Shades of Gray   Apr 19, 2012

I live in a world
that nobody knows.
Where the sun doesn't shine
and the grass doesn't grow.
Where I watch all my friends
as they go down below.
I live in a world
that nobody knows.

I live in a world
that everyone fears.
They all turn away
as we shed our tears.
Comforts are few
in these difficult years.
I live in a world
that everyone fears.

I live in a world
where nobody cares.
It causes pain that's
too strong to bear.
You beg to lay down
and die right there.
I live in a world
where nobody cares.

This is the world
through a teenager's eyes.
Do not walk away
for these are real cries.
This is how we feel,
so please don't let us die.

The truth about Life, is to care.. Where there's no care, we wear and tear.. A living conscience shall do good.. Where conscience is lost, evil breeds.. Good job gem.

Not easy to be a Teenager, a difficult
time to figure out who you truly are.
Most of us have been down that road.
Even thus I am much older now I remember
me being a Teenager dealing with that
same feeling. Very heartbreaking your poem. Excellent
