The World of Grey

by Psyclonic   Apr 20, 2012

I don't see the world
As flowers and trees
yet it all
holding down on me

I want to explode
to just break free
Yet i just can't
Break it's hold on me

I push and pull
And call out for help
Yet all I get back
Is an echo of myself

The chains break
I am free
From the world
Holding down on me

I look around
For my savior
They are not there
And the worlds back at my door

I run and run
I cannot get away
I am stuck again
In my world astray

While everyone else
Runs away
One small girl
Stands and stays

She sits down beside
And says she understands
She sets me free
And gives me her hand

She helps me up
And takes me away
Further and further
From this world of gray

This is such an amazing poem! When did you write it exactly? Anyways, thanks for giving me a copy! Anyways, wanna know a secret? (I hope so cuz I'm typing it whether you wanna know or not.) I read it over and over again last night. I slept with it right next to my pillow. I hope that doesn't creep you out... But seriously, it's that good. And...do I know this special girl very well?

I love the way you structured this piece. And it's really rare and inspiring when someone helps you out without expecting something in return. The flow was great. I like the simple imagery and overall message of the piece. Great job 5/5 Keep writing :)
