The One That Got Away

by Freeze Tyler   Apr 29, 2012

Trickling venom; my hand is still numb
Trembling fingers are still on this gun.
You tell me to run; you tell me to hide,
I'm piercing your hide afraid you will cry.
You tell me to run or I'm going to die.
You're moving away through my insides.

Trickling blood belongs to my love.
Tricking my words to fit like a glove.
She told me to hide, she told me to run.
She told me to back off with a sweet rub.
Closing my eyes and biting my tongue.
How fickle the person that I have become.

Run with the weather and run like the wind.
I feel like I'm lost within every win.
Trickling tear drops, with a body that's bent.
Resenting the time that I never spent.
Give me a moment and I'll be alright.
Give me a night and I might make you mine.

Trickling water; the weather has changed.
Gone with the storms, it's bringing more rain.
My pain was enough to not be contained.
You were enough to not be the blame.
Treating the water to clean off my face.
Another man has taken my place.
