A minute away

by Yakari Gabriel   Apr 30, 2012

Its 11:10,

I stare at the clock,
the roof, the mirror.
and the fan circling
above my head
much like my mind..

Should I make
a wish in sixty seconds

or should I
let it pass by,
like all the other times
I hoped I could keep you?

    At fist i was confused at the title but i got it now. It just talks about your frustrations on how many times you have wished you still had this person, now you just want to give up because none of those wishes are coming true

    Well I just thought this poem was actually really cute Yaki, for I have always made wishes at 11:11....The title I feel some are going to say is too simple, but I love that it leaves me trying to guess what youre going to talk about.

    What I loved about this was that last stanza, it was almost like you were questioning your hope...You hope you could keep them, but you know you can't, yet you keep relying on a simple wish, and its almost like youre sick of wishing on something that never seems to come true....

    In these few short lines it really got me thinking. .. :)
