I'll Always Be Your Little Girl

by sarah k   Jun 27, 2004

You still think of me as your little girl.
You act like I wont understand.
But I want you to know I'm older now
And you don't have to protect me from the things you are going through.

When I was little..
you were the one to protect me from the monsters.
The one to make my boo-boos feel better
And the one to to remind me to do my best and tell me I can when I said I cant.

But now its my turn to protect you
Its my turn to make you feel better
And its my turn to tell you you can when you are having doubts.

I know it seems like Ive grown up to fast,
Maybe I have,
But I'm a strong person
And you helped me become that way.

You have always done so much for me and now its time for me to return the favor.

I just want you to know I will always be there for you,
No matter what,
And you don't have to put on a brave face to protect me.
I love you and you are my daddy.

*i wrote this for my dad who is my hero. hes done so much for me throughout my life and now that hes injured, i want to be there for him like he was for me. it may be confusing but he will understand it*

hey sarah, good poem! i cant exactly relate to the same feelings.. but i do understand them. in this poem you do a great job of showing how much you love your father and how much you truely care for him. i know he will never be the same again, but i know that things will get better for both of you. your father is a lucky man to have someone like you as his daughter. you truely are a wonderfull person.
