Inescapable Afterlife

by Jawwad Zafar   May 20, 2012

At gate of heaven, there I stand
with deeds engraved upon my hand
I was told, you may not enter
shall be punished, being a sin inventor

As this fear surrounded, soul turned hollow..
This pain, ahh! I cannot swollow
For now I'm sure, will be thrown in hell
You can look into my past and tell

Dragged and pulled, grabbed by hair
face covered, breathing stale air
Lashed and chained beaten over
serving as commanded by the drover

Pus to drink, thorns to eat
skin dissolves enduring heat
To continue, this eternal ordeal
given new skin, the curse to feel

Snatched my tounge, made me mime
another nightmare I thought, alas! not this time..
useless cutting wrist, useless a knife
There's no escape, this is Afterlife
