The Many Shades Of Black

by Mello193   May 28, 2012

Surgery of the words unmasked,
"why did I die alone," I asked.

Faced with my mortality,
my heart was born misplaced
I'm sorry, mistakes I cant erase.
The path to totality,
broken pieces now replaced.
Don't worry, I'm in a better place.
Beyond all reality,
shadows forever embraced.
The blurry washes away my waste.
Benign design, give me a sign,
and in time, two souls entwined.
The defined divine, tracing every line,
the road not taken,
unchained awakened,
now my body is aching,
and my heart is breaking.

I felt so alone inside,
everything i had to hide,
if nothing else i tried.
Kiss me goodnight.
In blood I write,
into the light
I wish i was a better son.

just let the rain go away
I fear I've lost my way
is this my last day
and alone i cried
turned to stone and died
where will my bones lie?
When every thing is said and done

there is so much more i wish i could say
i wish i could take back every pain filled day
I guess together we can bow down to pray
the light will fade, give way to dark
and the flames ignite with just a spark
the days not counted I lost track
to take away the many shades of black

the road not taken
unchained awakened
now my body is aching
and my heart is breaking

I felt so alone inside
everything i had to hide
if nothing else i tried
kiss me goodnight
in blood I write
into the light
I wish i was a better son

just let the rain go away
I fear I've lost my way
is this my last day
and alone i cried
turned to stone and died
where will my bones lie?
When every thing is said and done

from the bottom of the heart
and the empty shell, my chest
in the Autumn of my art
blessed now put to rest
nirvana shines in me bright
to fan out the last flame
this feeling I cant shake tonight
to lose this heavy name
it scares me how much this all just rhymes
i hear the clocks ticking out of times
it hurt I now must admit
screaming from my smoky throat
And I know that this is it
the last thing i ever wrote

This poem is very heart breaking, I like how you expressed that you wish you could take the pains you might have caused away. I love so many lines I can point to just one, this is one of the best poems I have read.
