My Poetry

I probably don't write the best form of poetry.
What my words speak is reality.
The pain the lurks deep in my heart.
The way life has torn me apart.

I never took classes for the poetry I write.
I wrote it under a night light that wasn't even bright.
It was never meant to be perfect.
My poetry gives me my own respect.

Even this as I write it down, it's not the best.
And, I'm not trying to be better then the rest.

So much I have in this open mind of mine.
Even those who see and understand me are all so blind.

My poetry defines me.
It defines my character and the kind of person I am.

Some people will like them, other will hate them.
I don't write to impress but to express.
