Flying Away

by Chloe DeWitt   Jun 9, 2012

As the darkness fills the corners of my eyes
The love of my life is leaving my sight
He is flying away soon to help our country
And as he slips away one more mile,
I die and start to smile
If he passes away due to harm,
That means he'll be closer to my arm.
He is everything to me at the moment
Before I can slip away and mean nothing to anybody
Will he be there to dry my swollen eyes?
As the light starts to shine,
And we are together now, and everything seems fine.
He is now the fire that lights my lamp
But to him, I am just a removable stamp.
Please don't let me fall so hard on the ground
While he leaves me once more to remove the sound,
The sound of my tears disintegrating as I migrate to the gates of hell,
Where I belong since he left me
I want to die, so I no longer have to suffer inside,
While he watches the pain he caused,
He too, will soon fall
Only to be with me.
