Remember Me

by Freeze Tyler   Jun 27, 2012

When you look up at the stars and tell me,
Each one is a memory;
Hold on until tomorrow while I sing
The notes that set us free.
And if these notes fall up too short,
Mother nature changed her course.
Fly on far without me, love
And let me rest in peace.
In the belly of the beast,
Trading stories with Hades,
I'll look up and smile at you,
When the world forgets me.
I tie my boot straps with loose ends,
You cry to me as you beg.
The stars are still shining
Atop this broken city.
And when these broken bone atrophy,
Decompose the memory.
Put it in a bottle
And throw me out to sea.
Don't you see the skies are empty, love.
But something above reminds you of me.
You sing a note with laughter,
Oh baby please...
Swallow up you tears with golden slumbers
There without me.
There will always be a we,
You just have to sing.

Take the notes I wrote along with you,
Squeeze them with the tissues,
Remember I was writing,
A memory...
And when the clock broke in you hands,
Smile on timelessly,
Because I'll be smiling right back,
With memories.
