Transcendence (unfinished)

by Chelsea Sprite   Jul 7, 2012

Looking deep into my eyes,
It's your only chance to see no lies.
Can you see the tears I shed
When I am screaming in my head?

The heartbreak cuts so deep.
It comes at night when I cannot sleep.
I simply wish I could forget,
But life is love, death, and regret.

I look for you throughout the day.
I see a resemblance before it fades.
A stranger walks on by.
Is it you? No... Just another lie.

I call to you! No reply.
I bow my head and start to cry.
Why could I never see
How much you truly mean to me?

(written about my father, who passed away June 9, 2012)
