I Musn't Do It

by XxxWordsOfWisdomxxX   Jul 12, 2012

The blade sits across the room
Beckoning me;
Calling me over
Feel the cool metal on my skin

I musn't give in
To temptation
It will take me over;
Slowly killing me

My fate;
Is in my hands
Desperately wanting
To give into temptation

I musn't;
My life is ahead
So many things
I willn't get to see or do

Still beckoning me
From across the room
I musn't fall into temptation;
I musn't

    This is such a powerful poem!
    It can relate to it... And the emotions you used described everything I thought when I was in that position...
    You're a fantastic writer.

    That is strange... I knew from that title it was about self harming - I don't know why, just my thoughts instantly went to that.... I was right!
    Good poem, nice word choice and I like the way its like a conversation with yourself to stop yourself following the urges.

    good work
