I belong in this place.

by Shay   Jul 27, 2012

It is dark here, I don't think I belong in this place. It is all so very different, I don't recognize one single face.
Excuse me Sir, could you point me in the right direction? "Ma'am, this is where you're supposed to be, you're the one who made this selection."
What are you talking about? I'm just trying to get home. "Get used to this place, you're now on your own."
This place is scary, I feel nothing but fear.
"Ma'am, do not be frightened, you're supposed to be here."
What are you saying? I don't understand what you're talking about.
"Ma'am, you found your way into this place, but you can never find your way out."
Please stop, you're worrying me.
"Just accept all the things that you will see."
I just want to leave, and get back to where I belong.
"Well, Ma'am, since you're here you must have done something wrong."
Please! Just let me go!
"You can ask to leave, but the answer will always be no."
I rush past the faces with my head pointed down, I have to figure a way out of here, I have to leave this town!
"Ma'am, do not be alarmed at what I just said, no one can hurt you here. You are not alive, you're dead."
What you talking about, where the hell am I?!
"Ma'am, thats exactly it, you're in hell, because you chose to die. You said that you were sick, and you were through, are you trying to say you don't remember what happened to you?"
I've done nothing wrong, I have a life!
"Ma'am, look in your hand, don't you remember that knife?"
How did that get inside my hand?!
"Ma'am, stay calm, you must try to understand. You are here to stay forever, and ever, when you want to know when you leave, the answer is never."

I've finally accepted it, and each day I see a new face.. just like me they're scared, but soon they will realize that they belong in this place.
