Dark Soul

by Watercolourz   Jul 28, 2012

Living in a universe, a heart away,
A open mind caged in walls, just a heart away,
He looks into hearts, waiting for a sign,
A prisoner of broken parts, staring into mine.

His faith collapses, clinging to hope,
Wanting the noose, but having no rope,
Shedding a tear, screaming it out,
Fighting alone and pushing it back out.

The shadow within him, filling with doubt,
Blood in his eyes, when he falls blacked out,
He wakes up at night, eyes in disarray,
All he remembers is not wanting to stay.

He hopes it's not too much to ask,
If hate will save his heart for last,
When the darkness fades to black,
And no one's there to pull him back.

His scars are just reminders,
Of pain caused to him by others,
Because it's not just make believe,
When they put hate in the air,
And make him breathe.

So he marches to the sound of the drums,
He yells like a beast to the sun,
Telling it to make him burn,
For he is damned, a dark angel cast away to be numb.

Really awesome metaphors as always there, great choice of words too and I love that it`s not another simple poem, but it actually has a deeper meaning and you portrait it perfectly ^^. Great job keep it up mate ^^
