Honesty

by DirtRoadGirl   Aug 5, 2012

I meet your eyes across the room;
Perfect eyes so big and blue.
A playful smile claims your lips,
my heart stops.

So perfect,
so handsome,
so honestly true;
I am tired of denying that I love you.

I remember the taste of your kiss,
the day you took my innocence.
So caught in the moment,
I honestly felt nothing would change.

Time has passed since that day,
you've moved and and you are happy.
But I can't deny the pain I feel,
The honest ach I get when I see you.

And while you've learned to love another,
your memory taunts me;
Playing with my mind,
and breaking my heart.

I meet your eyes across the room;
perfect eyes so big and blue
A playful smile claims your lips,
my heart stops.

So perfect,
so handsome,
so honestly true;
how is it possible I still love you?
