Friend of mine

by DirtRoadGirl   Oct 25, 2013

I missed you friend of mine,
Your bite of pain,
The perfect line.

I missed the control you instil in me,
The feel of release,
Of being free.

I missed you blade of mine,
The blood you draw,
With every line.

I missed you friend of mine,
For when I'm broken,
I'm no longer fine.

I understand this very well. I have been a cutter off and on for a long time as well. I like how you build it up though. The knife I understand can be a great sad friend to anyone who wants it. The way you word it though it seems like you were clean for a while and then something turned and you turned to the knife. I understand these feelings as I said because my life is not so well anyway. I like this poem very much because of the tone you used throughout. I like the ending too. You admit you are not fine at all and that takes courage. Great write:)
